On Saturday night I came home after an exhausting two days of the first half of the Grief Recovery Method Training. Normally I am not a relax in the bath tub person, and to my own chagrin I always go for the shower, mostly because I a mom to two littles, and find it easy, and quick. But Saturday night on my drive home I remembered something. I had experimented with a bath bomb recipe and for the first time in a long time the idea of soaking carelessly in a bath tub seemed like the best way to unwind.
AND IT WAS!!
I nearly fell asleep. The minute the bath bomb hit the steaming bath water the bathroom filled with lavender and peppermint aroma. It was divine!!
It might be my new favorite self-care mechanism. I am washing away the guilt to spend a few extra minutes unwinding once and for all, because this was amazing, amazing, amazing!
Of course if you’re already into bath bombs and the whole steaming bath, read a book, unwind routine you’re probably thinking I’m a little nuts for not getting into it sooner. But hey. I’m slow, so…
Anyway, the recipe is so easy it’s ridiculous. And they fizz!! It is lovely.
Bath Bomb Recipe
1 cup baking soda
1 cup citric acid
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup corn starch
8-10 drops essential oils
Simply mix your ingredients and scoop into a silicon mold (or a cupcake pan would work but don’t fill them to the top unless you really want big bath bombs!…). Let them sit overnight, pop them out of the molds and enjoy!!
